The first victim of the defensive overhaul is a recently acquired star who had a very short tenure with the team.

The Cowboys released linebacker Logan Wilson after a brief stint with the team. The 29-year-old appeared in seven games in 2025, starting one, and recorded 24 tackles, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup. Dallas had acquired Wilson from the Bengals at the November 4 trade deadline for a 2026 seventh-round pick, hoping to bolster a struggling linebacker unit. With no guaranteed money remaining on his contract, the move clears $6.5 million in 2026 cap space and marks the first personnel decision under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker.
