The Cowboys traded their first-round picks in both 2000 and 2001 to acquire wide receiver Joey Galloway from Seattle, hoping to give quarterback Troy Aikman another reliable target. The move ended up being one of the worst trades in franchise history. Galloway suffered a major injury in his very first game with Dallas. By the time he returned the following year, Aikman had already retired, leaving the trade far from the impact the team had envisioned.
