Despite his impressive NFL bloodlines, Kaiir was not a natural-born superstar. His father, Abram Elam, admitted that Kaiir was "one of the worst players on the football team his freshman year" of high school. 

He wasn't very physical or fast at that age and was "coasting" before deciding to put in the immense work that eventually made him a top-100 recruit.
